  • Luncheon meetings - We welcome you to join us for lunch every Monday between noon and 1 p.m. in the beautiful Mallards Room of The Mill Race Inn in Geneva, IL (located at the S.W. corner of Rt. 25 and Rt. 38). The Club conducts business meetings after lunch and often has guest speakers on non-business meeting days. Each luncheon begins with a prayer and before the business portion starts, we pledge allegiance to the flag. Please come in and ask for a board member and tell them you would like to join us for lunch. We'd be delighted to have you!

  • Diabetes Awareness Day in April. Club members solicit donations from the public at various locations around the community. They also distribute information about diabetes and blindness associated with this disease.

  • Candy Days  (Site and Volunteer List)
in October. Members solicit donations at various locations around the community (mostly the same locations as Diabetes Awareness Day). Candy is offered to anyone making a donation.
  • Sight and Sound Sweepstakes in May is a raffle. Members sell tickets and the proceeds go to benefit persons with vision and hearing disabilities.

  • Free Hearing Screening   (Poster) (Volunteer List)
The Illinois Lions Foundation Hearing Screening bus will be in Geneva on Friday September 17, 2010 at the corner of James and Third Streets (between the Post Office and the Courthouse).  The bus is sponsored by the Geneva Lions Club as part of our year round community service in sight and sound projects. Click here to see where the Bus is appearing this month.

The bus is staffed by an audiology technician and will be available to the public for hearing screening from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  No advance sign up is required and all persons interested in screening are urged to take advantage of this program.  The test takes approximately 20 minutes and is free of charge to all who are interested.  Anyone with questions is urged to contact Lion Jim Cullen at (630) 262-8311.

  • Eyeglass Recycling
The Geneva Lions Club collects unwanted eyeglasses to be recycled for use by needy persons in third-world countries.    The donated eyeglasses are cleaned, sorted by prescription and prepared for distribution by the Illinois Lions Foundation and other groups.    In most third-world countries, eye care is either unaffordable or inaccessible.   Poor eyesight that is left uncorrected can lead to unemployment for adults and a child's inability to attend school.

We have placed recycling collection boxes in numerous convenient drop-off locations in Geneva and St. Charles.    Hearing aids may also be dropped off in those boxes for recycling.

Click here to view the names and locations of the establishments where those boxes are located.    For questions, contact Lion Jim Cullen at (630) 262-8311 or Lion Bob Goodfellow at (630) 406-1337.

  • Hearing Aid Recycling
Hearing aids collected in the community are sent to the Illinois Lions Foundation which refurbishes them in conjunction with an audiologist. Persons with hearing aids to donate may drop them off in any of the Lions Club eyeglass recycling boxes located in Geneva and St. Charles.  For location of a convenient box click here

  • Bratwurst Stand and Shaved Ice Booth in June during Geneva's annual Swedish Days Festival. This is the Club's largest single fund raising activity. Members volunteer to cook and serve food and drinks at the stand. We enjoy working with each other and serving the public while providing funding for worthy causes.

The menu is usually an excellent Italian cuisine. There is a cash bar, entertainment, and sometimes an auction is held.
